James,the fastest player in the Tiger Sharks, has had an incredible amount of success playing on the wing, remaining their highest try scorer. James has an unbelievable ability to score from anywhere on the pitch. He learnt his trade whilst playing rugby for Aberystwyth University, and like many of the Tiger Sharks, has also spent some time playing Rugby League. As well as playing Rugby, James is applying to the fire service.

Mark Griffin

Height:155cm

Weight: 88kg

Mark, who currently plays hooker for Aberystwyth University Rugby League 1st XIII, plays hooker for the Tiger Sharks.  He has played a number of sports throughout his life but has recently settled on Rugby.  Mark has recently been an instrumental part of the Aberystwyth Rugby scene and is continuing to contribute to the team's success this season.  He is currently studying for a Masters degree at Aberystwyth University.

Ash Howlett

Height:170cm

Weight: 75kg

Ash Howlett has been a key member of the Tiger Sharks various half back combinations for two seasons now. His attacking instinct has caused the opposition's defence huge problems. In addition to this, his tough tackling defensive work is second to none. Ash was a founding member of the Aberystwyth University Rugby League team and is currently setting up a Rugby League team in Leamington Spa; Leam Royals. Ash is currently working for HSBC in Warwick.

Jon Williams

Height: 191cm

Weight: 98kg

Jon Williams is one of the Tiger Sharks most experienced players. Having come from a rich rugby background, Jon has achieved various representative honours at different levels.  Jon was educated at the prestigious Llandovery College in Wales, where he selected to tour South Africa.  Jon's work at the breakdown is hugely important to the Tiger Sharks, as is his formidable ball carrying ability.  Jon is currently completing his Business and Law degree at Aberystwyth University.

Andrew Parks

Height: 174cm

Weight: 80kg

Andrew Parks is one of the Tiger Sharks utility backs and will happily play in a number of different positions. Andrew has been awarded various representative honours, most notably being selected to represent the Great Britain Student Rugby League team on their tour to the Ukraine and Latvia in the summer of 2008. He has also broadened his Rugby experience by spending a year playing in Australia. Andrew currently works in Edinburgh.

Ash Holbrook

Ash has played for the Tiger Sharks for two seasons.  He has a remarkable defensive presence and has backed this up with numerous Man of the Match awards.  Ash also possesses a kicking game that has been vital to the Sharks in important games.  Ash played rugby for the Aberystwyth University Rugby League club, where he was key to a successful back line.  A mark of Ash's commitment to fitness is his completion of the infamous DW canoe race.  Ash is currently applying to the Civil Service.

Stu Rogers

Head Coach

 Stu is the Tiger Sharks first Head Coach.  As a player Stu possessed pace and a natural attacking ability, he had the skill to open up defences and sense gaps that other players might not spot. Stu began his rugby career at Warwick School, where he was selected to tour Australia and Singapore in 2002. At university level he converted to Rugby League, where he was awarded university club colors for his services to Rugby League. At present, Stu is studying for a Masters degree at the University of Warwick.  Stu appointment as head coach will be a massive lift for the squad as the players will learn a lot from his experience.

John Perry

John is known amongst the squad for his extremely high work rate and steely determination.  He has superb defensive skills and a knack for turning the ball over.  As well as this he has a strong pass and is renowned for his accurate lineout throwing. He also is known to put in some big tackles, which have turned many a game in the Tiger Sharks favour. John is currently working for the church in Aberystwyth.

Rhys Lewis

Height:189cm

Weight:85kg

Rhys has played with the Tiger Sharks in a number of different positions, which in many ways demonstrates his strengths as a player.  He has an ability to take interceptions that can turn a game on its head, and is extremely good in defence. Rhys has had a number of honours during his rugby career and has dabbled in a number of different sports including playing a hard-hitting linebacker in American Football.  Rhys is currently pursuing a career in the RAF.

Dan Clarke

Dan, a recent addition to the Tiger Sharks squad, was brought in for his fearless defensive skills as well as his ability to run with the ball in the loose.  He, like Rhys Lewis, has a background in American Football, as well as a background in football.  Dan is currently studying for his Law conversion in London.

Alex Ferentinos

Height:181cm

Weight:90kg

Alex's strengths lie in his pace, power and strength in contact. He has an ability to retain possession when many would think it was lost. His stats also show an extremely high turnover count.  Alex constantly works to improve his game in all areas and is a regular in the gym. He plays with a lot of heart and controlled aggression. Alex is also a national level swimmer and loves to cook, especially steaks! After leaving school, Alex worked for the HMC&E and has qualifications in personal training and nutrition. He currently works for a net based company selling biomedical research antibodies.

Richard Maxwell-Penny

Height: 180cm

Weight: 88kg

Rich has been playing for the Tiger Sharks for a number of seasons.  He is an important member of the Tiger Sharks, with his covering defence saving the Tiger Sharks on a number of occasions. In attack, Rich is a powerful ball carrier and has proved useful attacking out wide.  Rich is currently studying for a Masters degree in Business Management at Aberystwyth University.

Andy Holloway

Andy was new to rugby when he came to the Tiger Sharks, however, being the accomplished sportsman he took to sevens like a shark to water!  He has played mostly on the wing for the Tiger Sharks, with his deceptive pace resulting in him scoring numerous trys.  Andy is also an extremely good badminton and squash player, as well being a talented footballer.  Andy is currently finishing a degree in Maths.
